A small electronic jamming device that can disable cellphone signals that can be places inside a vehicle. Since most IEDs used against our forces in Iraq are detonated via cellphones; the device could jam the signals, so that it either detonates prematurely or no detonate at all.
The device should have a coverage area of at least 200 meters and could be placed, like a radar detector; that way IEDs cannot detonate near our vehicles, protecting the soldiers from harm and perhaps, used to detonate IEDs and VBIEDs prematurely.
They should have had better armored vehicles for our soldiers from the beginning. It would have saved many lives.
