external fan good idea, i need to try that but itseems like the macbooks fan goes on alot more than other laptops.

Yeh i own a core duo macbook too and my macbook does exactly the same thing! I think smc doesen’t allow you to drop it below apples standards for the sake of your macbook. (So it doesen’t have a meltdown.) My macbooks fan spins up when i do little things like open web pages with flash content and in boot camp (I know i’m a traitor but i like playing a few games.)

Use an external fan. That would help.

god dont you hate that, it seems like my macbooks fan always turns on i have a 1gb of ram 2ghz processor i got it 12/31 but i hate that!
