Sounds like a newspaper headline. Well, my browser was hijacked. I knew it because whenever I make a search, I will get redirected to sites that contain tons of ads. There are also times that I will be taken to sites with pornographic materials.
I believe I got a Trojan when I downloaded a music video to my PC. Just as I thought, it was the infamous Google Search Redirect Virus. I was very careful when it comes to using the internet because I am already aware that malicious codes are everywhere; nonetheless, I still caught the stubborn troublemaker.
First, I got so worried about it because it seems none of the tools I used was able to get rid of it from my system. I even updated my antivirus to make sure that I’ll get the best result. However, the menace would still persist. It even got worse after a few days.

At first, I will have to make a few attempts before I get the exact results for my search. After some time, I stopped getting relevant outcome for my search. All I get are URLs of fake websites that serve as hideouts to more viruses.
What I did is I went to my friends home and made a research there on how I can clean this mess. I found out that there are some files that I need to delete from my system. I should also use a tool that can remove spyware and malware. Sad to say, an antivirus, no matter how good it is, won’t be enough.
Since I cannot use my browser anymore for searching, I immediately downloaded a redirect fix to my flash drive and transferred it to my PC upon getting home. After following the instruction on deleting the malicious files that got into my system, I let the antispyware software ran. The stubborn problem got fixed after that and everything went back to normal again.
