Tips for playing action games online
The genre of the action game can be quite frustrating to play online. This is because most people feel like they should be able to play it. Action games are based off of some of the oldest of the genre. They follow the steps of Donkey Kong to make a linear level with enemies, traps, and puzzles standing in your path. Well, they’ll actually be moving, hiding, or hunting you. You just have to keep some basic tips in mind to kill the monsters and save the princess. The first thing that you have to remember is that you aren’t invincible. Most games will not make you Rambo. Generally, if an enemy hits you, you die. So, you will need to keep your fingers limber and your eyes steady. Plan out your moves carefully and try to avoid fights when possible. Only attack when you can do so safely. Enemies in action games almost always have some weakness that you can exploit. Try to get below them, above them, behind them, etc. to get in a good position for the quick kill. You must also remember that retreat is an option. If you’re in a bad spot, run away until [...]
Are Video Games Good? A Non-Gamer’s Perspective
The argument as to whether video games are good or not is perhaps one of the hottest debates today. There are smart, well-educated, well-meaning people on each side of the debate. As a non-gamer, I have an interesting perspective bring to the discussion – I’m a non-gamer who views video games favorably. Why? Allow me to explain. Probably the largest complaint against video games is that they encourage violence. Perhaps they do. But I think that they are only a part of the picture. Playing a shooting game on your computer does not and can not by itself create a murderer. There are many other factors involved. In my experience, the gamers that I know are certainly not violent. I believe that playing violent video games may increase violence only if and when other factors are present. I feel the same about violent movies, which I generally do not mind. Take, for example, Gladiator or The Patriot, both R rated for violence. After watching those movies, I had an increased hatred of un-needed violence. They did not make me violent. Instead, they re-enforced my belief that cruelty is wrong, and violence should be avoided if possible. Another argument against computer [...]
10 quick and easy ways to speed up your computer!
Many people are interested in making the most of their hardware. So here are 10 simple tips on how to make your Windows XP computer run faster without having to purchase additional hardware. 1. Defrag Disk to Speed Up Access to Data One of the factors that slow the performance of the computer is disk fragmentation. When files are fragmented, the computer must search the hard disk when the file is opened to piece it back together. To speed up the response time, you should monthly run Disk Defragmenter, a Windows utility that defrags and consolidates fragmented files for quicker computer response. * Follow Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter * Click the drives you want to defrag and click Analyze * Click Defragment 2. Detect and Repair Disk Errors Over time, your hard disk develops bad sectors. Bad sectors slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing difficult or even impossible. To detect and repair disk errors, Windows has a built-in tool called the Error Checking utility. It’ll search the hard disk for bad sectors and system errors and repair them for faster performance. * Follow Start > My Computer * [...]
6 Tips to Save on Your Printer Ink Cartridges
Buying a printer is a one time cost, but since printer ink cartridges need to be bought on a regular basis, the cost of operating the printer and maintaining it in proper condition can add up. Each ‘print’ command, however small, makes your printer use ink, but with some easy tips, you can actually save a lot of ink and use a cartridge for a longer period than usual. 1) Print only what is necessary Let’s begin with economising. Most often, we end up making unnecessary printouts and in the process waste precious ink. For instance, you might need to print only a small portion of a web page instead of the whole page. Instead of simply printing the whole page, complete with its heavy graphics etc, be specific on what you want to have in hard copy and print only that portion. Text always consumes less ink compared to graphics or images. If textual information is all that you need then you can make sure that you don’t print the graphics and images. If it is a web page you need to save in a printed form, check for its print version. If there is no print version, you [...]
History of Hewlett Packard and Ink
Hewlett Packard’s tryst with ink took off when it acquired a company named F.L Mosley based in California in 1958. Mosley was manufacturing recorders and plotters for industrial applications such as continuous process monitoring systems, data loggers and the like in the 1950’s. Hewlett Packard was the pioneer in imaging and printing technologies. It was the first in the market during the 1980’s to come up with inkjet and laser technology used in printers until date. Its first printer was the “ThinkJet” in 1984 based on the inkjet technology and later the “DeskJet” printer also based on inkjet technology and the “Laser” printer as the name suggests based on laser technology. The Ink Today inks are not just gooey fluids filled in cartridges to give you images on your print media. Specially engineered ink gives high quality prints-it has specially designed active agents and colorants that give rich color and fade resistance. There is a difference between printer ink and toner – printer ink is a liquid that is applied to paper by pressure. Toner is a fine powder that is burned onto the paper through heat and laser guidance. There are two types if ink – dye based and [...]
Knowledge About Pinging
by: Len Hutton What is pinging? When a blog is pinged, it essentially tells a web blog tracking system that the blog has been updated. Thus, pinging is the process of telling tracking services that a site has been updated. A ping service scans regularly blogs for updates. Whenever there is a new update for a particular blog, that is reported back to the pinging service’s site. You can almost think of ping services being just like search engine spiders—both scan sites looking for information, and both report that information back to their specific site. The difference is, a ping service only reports back new blog posts. Pinging, in effect, tells people that there is a new blog posting available. Those who are loyal followers of your blog will see the ping and want to visit your blog. Those who haven’t read your blog before will see the ping and perhaps think “hey, there’s a new blog I haven’t been to before, I think I’ll check it out”. Pinging helps to increase your traffic because it tells people when your blog is updated. Those who visit sites with pinging services will see this information in the form of a scroll [...]
